Well, being that it is my first real day of college and my sixth day in Minnesota, I feel I should catch people up on my life.
College is fantastic. The food is actually very good, the dorm room is a decent size, and my roomie, Tara, is a nice person. It's an all girls floor, though there are guys above and below us, and at the floor meetings, I feel like I'm back at SK. It's a nice feeling. I keepo running into girls in my classes who are on my floor, and none of us remember each other. It's kind of awkward, but I'm at the end, so even with my door open, it's hard to be sociable.
My First Year Course, From Magic to Witchcraft, is going to be a blast. The kids are great, and I've made a few good friends already. One of them, Darcy, likes Harry Potter, and she's a Sirius/Remus shipper. Hee. We stayed up until 3 am Monday night, going over our favorite books, and telling each other which ones the other has to read. So I have yet another person who wants me to read Kushiel. I really need to get to those. Anyway, Darcy rocks.
Spanish seems like a lot of work, but it shouldn't be too bad. I think we're mostly on a level with each other. The physics will be challenging, but I think I can handle it, and the math is just going to be fun. The teacher is so nice, completely approachable, and I understood all that he was saying. But then, Mr. Alexander prepared me for college math, so what else should I expect? I still consider him probably the best teacher I've ever had.
Buying textbooks probably sucked my soul as well as my checking account. It sucked, but I have all my books. I think I found a few of them cheaper online, though, so I'll probably order them in the next day or so, and return them to the bookstore when they come in. You can return them for full price as long as it's within a two week limit. No problem.
No, I have Spanish homework, and some math that I could/should do, and I may wander around campus in a bit if the rain really has stopped, because I don't have any idea of what's on the surrounding streets.
