Gay Rights and BSG

So apparently there's this thing going around LJ where if you believe in gay rights, you should say so some time this week, and put it in your subject line. So here I am. But I don't actually feel like ranting at the moment, so I'll just say that I do, and I'm working for a gay group right now, so I think I'm doing my part as well. Yay, gay people!
Anyway. I'm pretty pumped about the Battlestar Galactica premiere this Friday. Now that I can dl the eps, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to keep up, and I really am interested to see where this season goes. I watched the hour-long recap thing tonight on SciFi, which was cool, because it was mostly, "Oh, yeah, man was that fantastic," or, "Oh, hey, so that's when that happened." And also, yay for some damn hot girls on TV again (sorry, Rachael Luttrell, but you can't hold a flame to Tricia Helfer, or Grace Park). And good writing, and Edward James Olmos, and oh, Baltar, how I love to hate you, and Roslin, and... yeah. I <3 my Battlestar.
I'm a little worried about this whole, "reaching a broader audience" thing they have going, though. I mean, it's a fantastic show, and pretty light on the whole sci fi aspect, so I can see where they totally COULD market to a wider audience, but I'm scared that in the attempt, they're going to dumb it down. And, there's the old stigma that really great shows don't last long on TV. And I feel like that's doubly true on network TV, as opposed to a little cable channel. And I'm a little worried now that we've moved away from the actual Battlestar and are now stuck on New Caprica.
And, um... I totally don't remember what happened to Sharon, either. Where is she? The one that had the baby, I mean. So they took the baby, and we saw her on New Caprica, but where is Sharon? Or Helo, for that matter. New Caprica? Is that Sharon even still around? The recap thing stopped mentioning her after she gave birth and got dragged away for attacking the doctor.
Haha, remember how Al from Quantum Leap was a Cylon and a priest? That was cool. I think I may watch some QL tonight. I was going to do a crapload of homework, but now I'm just really tired. Yay for monthly cycles.
