Hm. So my break finally picked up. I've been out with Erika and Dave and seen Amanda and the rest of the clan. I've seen Karen, and learned how to knit, and seen all of her family. I've seen my grandparents, cleaned my room, gotten rid of stuff that's been sitting in my room since sometime this summer, and finished my Neil Gaiman book (Neil Gaiman, btw, is going to be presenting something at the Walker in Minneapolis on the 11 of January, which pisses me off, because of course he does it while I'm not FIFTEEN MINUTES AWAY FROM THE WALKER. *sigh* He lives in MN. Hopefully he'll do something else sometime during college). I have started my new Star Trek book. I have watched TV episodes, SGA, Star Trek, MASH, and the Daily Show, and I have watched movies. I have been out with my mom, I have worked with my dad and gone out with him. I visited high school.
I have been productive, I have had fun, I should probably get around to thank you notes today, and do some stuff for work, and then tonight, I GET TO GO PICK UP TOM FROM THE AIRPORT!!
He's coming for 10 days, and it's only 8 hours from now, and I am so excited I can barely sit still. We should probably work out a schedule of some sort, because we have a few things we want to do, but no dates set for any of them. Among the things to do:
* Go to DC for a day (what do you guys think? Smithsonian, or just monuments and things? Anything not immediately obvious I should be thinking of in DC?)
* Hang out by the Harbor for a day (that one I got covered)
* Go visit Milton
* Ice skating with Karen and Co.
* ...
I know there's other people that need to meet him. My friends, who I expect to just come over or we'll all go out to dinner or like the ice skating thing, just hanging out. And then some of my family, though I'm trying to keep family things to a minimum, because... yeah. My family. I don't mind them meeting him, I just don't want to turn this into a chore of seeing everyone.
But mostly, I'm just thinking... yay, Tom!!
