Clases finished today. Turns out, they finished yesterday for me, since when my alarm rang this morning for my one, not-very-important class, I told Jillian I wasn't going, rolled over, and went back to sleep for an hour and a half. Got up, did some homework that's due at the end of the week we get back, went to lunch, chilled, got my first batch of the HPV (cervical cancer) vaccine, did my comp sci homework that was my only work over break, and then was free!!

It was in the forties here today, and I went walking, wandered down to the Tea Garden and got tea, wandered back, opened up the windows, wrote a long, leisurely email, played with my music library, read some Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence, talked to Tom, went to a small, leisurely dinner, hung out with friends, watched Borat finally (did enjoy it, it was good/terrible and I'm glad I saw it, though it's never going to be a favorite of mine), chilled...

This is the first break in a long time where I feel like it's a break. Winter I was so stressed to be with my family for a month, and trapped in Jamestown in a hotel room with them for four days, and to be away from Tom so long, and other people, that I just didn't feel like I was actually taking a break from anything. But this time, I have absolutely no work over break (that's never happened before on any of my short breaks yet in college), I don't have to leave Tom (even if I am kind of dubious about not getting any real alone time with him for a week... that part isn't so exciting), and I get to go someplace warm.

I'm definitely in that period of the year where I'm well and truly done with winter. I want to see buds on trees, I want to not walk to class hunched in on myself, I want to not wear three layers to be warm enough outside. I want to wear sandals and a skirt, maybe a light jacket, and I really want to walk on the beach and feel some sunlight again. And I get to do all that.

I've been in a bad mood all week, and now I finally feel like things are looking up.
