forever and forever and forever

Goddammit, California. You make me so sad. I hope the lawsuit about the fourteenth amendment goes through, because it should, and it deserves to.
You know, the weather hasn't been so bad here yet, although we might get snow showers this weekend, but it's the darkness that might really drive me crazy this winter. Not that I can avoid that except by moving way the fuck south, but it was complete dark by I'm pretty sure 6:30 today. That's just not okay. I might have to start hanging out in the greenhouse from right after classes until nightfall just to get my requisite sunlight.
Also, if you email a professor on Thursday and he tells you he'll get back to you by Monday and doesn't, and you wait almost a week, email him on the next Sunday and he doesn't respond at all, how long do you wait before either emailing him again, or just going to his office? It's been three days, and I kind of really need an answer by this Friday, because I can't do anything over the weekend except flood his inbox, and I need to know by Monday so I can register. Earlier, so I can email my adviser and get a PIN number in order to register.
Because we're reading "On the Road" for lit class, have a poem, of sorts, which is actually an excerpt from a letter he wrote:
