Are you beginning to get my point?
Mar. 11th, 2009 02:20 pmSo I spent kind of a lot of money in the past few days, and spring break is next week, where I need to buy food, and will probably go out a fair amount for entertainment. On the other hand, I got birthday money the other week, and I haven't bought anything for myself for a while.
I am now the owner of a silver rings (I lost mine last year, and have been looking off and on for one ever since), a blue scarf with yellow stitching that's really pretty, and a few books:
*From the Notebooks of Dr. Brain, which I saw reviewed somewhere and looked really cute.
*How to Rent a Negro, which was linked to somewhere in the RaceFail discussions, and looked interesting, educational, and funny, so win.
*The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, because I've read some of Junot Diaz's short stories and really liked them, and my writing teacher said this was awesome.
*Infinite Crisis: The Novel, because it was really cheap, and I've been on a comic book frenzy lately. No, this isn't the actual comic book, but whatever, it's still about superheroes.
I also bought my cap and gown today, though I won't actually get them until May. And I give my capstone presentation on Friday, which pretty much means I'm done with my major. Eeek! Now if only I could get into grad school, I'd be feeling somewhat better about the end of college.
( But speaking of comics... )
( And speaking of race... )
This is apparently what happens when I don't post for a while, and then get everything off my chest at once.
