A summary:

1) Restuarants are notoriously slow in the summertime. Everyone cooks out or picks up sandwiches to eat by the pool. No one wants to come in and sit down in a semi-nice restaurant. So work is terribly slow, but ever-entertaining, though not worth writing about past this.

2) I am probably going to miss the [livejournal.com profile] reel_sga challenge deadline, since it's this Friday, and I have yet to complete the damn thing, let alone send it off to beta. Though it is coming along, so I have hopes. Ha! These people are so smart. Well, that solves that problem.

3) I am still plan-less for the Fourth. Well, not technically. I have a few offers, but they all have their good points, and so I'm having trouble deciding. This has nothing to do with most of you people who read this, but I thought I should mention it anyway.

4) This Thursday night is Pirates, and I am much excited. There should be a good group going, and I can't wait to see my favorite pirate with too much eyeliner back in action.

5) Speaking of which, I mentioned, I believe, that amazon delivered the wrong Pirates book to me, a story about Ahab and pirates, instead of Darwin and pirates. I started reading it anyway, just to see what the style was like, and it was so ridicuously cute that I gave in. I'll just re-order the damn thing, and hope they send the right book this time. There's no point in sending the book back, just to order it anyway. Seriously, anyone reading this: The Pirates! In an Adventure With Scientists!, by Gideon Defoe, and its sequel, The Pirates! In an Adventure With Ahab! They are so wonderful.

6) This Saturday I will be attending Shore Leave, and I expect to have loads of fun, see Mr. Ruppert if I am lucky, and enjoy myself immensely, while geeking the fuck out.

7) This Sunday, I get to go skydiving, and I am scared shitless, and also freaking out with excitement. I get to fly!! And I have a whole soundtrack of flying songs put together, and something has to be my away message on Sunday while I'm gone, but I have no idea what yet. At the moment, the top runners are Seal's "Crazy" (In a sky full of people, there's only some that want to fly, isn't that crazy?), "One Little Slip," by Barenaked Ladies (And they'll forget about the sky when they all realize this guy's about to try to learn to fly or hit the ground), Sara Evans' "Born to Fly," of course (And how do you keep your feet on the ground when you know that you were born to fly?).

8) There is no 8, but my Megan is here, and I was going to say something nice about her, but then she hit my keyboard, so no niceness. Bye!
