You're a spy!
Feb. 2nd, 2009 05:04 pmClasses are going well. I need to be doing homework now, but that's every semester. I was able to jump back into a workout routine pretty easily, which pleases me. I've been running a mile and a half to two miles every two or three days, and with the semester now mostly settled after a week, I think I'll actually be able to go every other day. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my mornings. I very much like having a morning routine, and not having class until 10:50, but having to eat breakfast before 9:30 is throwing me off. I either eat breakfast in a rush, don't eat at all, or end up with this weird hour to play with. Maybe I should make that my piano time, if I ever get around to that. I probably should. I brought the books, after all.
I am falling for Being Human really hard. I mean... a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost, being roommates. It's absurdly slashy, which of course speaks to my tastes, but even more than that, I just sort of adore all three main characters. I can't believe there are only two episodes so far.
New computer arrived! Dell was having a sale, so I got a new one for about $500, and it's pretty awesome. Had some weird problems at first when I went to install all of my Windows updates, but it's been working great since then, and I've moved in and am getting comfy. So far, my biggest squee about the move from XP to Vista is that the games are way cooler. And by that, I mean Mahjong is sucking my time. Also, my new computer did not come with Office, which is good, because I haven't gotten used to Office 2007, and I'd just as soon install the 2003 version I have on disk from my old computer. So that's kind of cool, though eventually I suppose I will have to get used to 2007. One day...
My new computer also has a rocking battery life, and is just new and shiny in general. It does not make noise like a hairdryer every time it has to run itunes, and it has 213 G free even after I moved my entire My Documents and Music and all over from the old computer. This is good, because my 300 G hard drive is pretty much full at this point.
When you see this, post your favorite poem in your journal.
I love way too many poems to say for sure that this is my favorite, but it's been hanging on my wall for years now, and I love it to pieces, so enjoy some ee cummings:
here's to opening and upward, to leaf and to sap
and to your(in my arms flowering so new)
self whose eyes smell of the sound of rain
and here's to silent certainly mountains;and to
a disappearing poet of always,snow
and to morning;and to morning's beautiful friend
twilight(and a first dream called ocean)and
let must or if be damned with whomever's afraid
down with ought with because with every brain
which thinks it thinks, nor dares to feel(but up
with joy;and up with laughing and drunkenness)
here's to one undiscoverable guess
of whose mad skill each world of blood is made
(whose fatal songs are moving in the moon
