How can you heartbreak a stranger?
Jan. 28th, 2009 12:07 amI just went to the Green Mill with a bunch of people and our table won the trivia night contest! I answered a few questions, so I feel good about contributing. Also, I'm not good friends with anyone who was there except for Pippa, but I like going out with groups like that sometimes, and I haven't done it in a while. That's not true, I went out with Karen's friends at New Year's, but at Mac, it's been a long time.
And they weren't total strangers, at least most of them, but my group is huge, so we don't quite get sick of each other, because there are too many of us to feel like recluses or anything, but at the same time, it's the same faces all the time, and that's why I really enjoyed tonight, and Star Trek Thursdays from last semester, and hanging out with the WISM people, and similar things.
Also, we won at trivia! The one odd moment was when they asked about antioxidants in tomatoes, and I immediately said lycopene, at which point Todd goes, "Oh, of course." Which is strange, considering I'm physics, not bio or chem, and I called him on it. He... didn't really have a response. But it was a nice night, imo.
My fiction writing class looks like it's going to be awesome, and I'm not going to Darwin tomorrow, so I need to withdraw online. I suppose those last two parts should be reversed in order.
Also, anyone who hasn't heard about Being Human, you should go check it out and try to watch it. It's AMAZING. The basic plot premise sounds like the set up to a joke, but the characters are all completely adorable, and after one episode, I love them all.
There was an original pilot aired last year with different actors in two of the three main roles, and I watched that too, and liked it, but I like all of the recasts better than the originals. With the possible exception of the bad guy, but I like the new one too. I think it's a completely different character, to be honest, and I don't think you see enough of him to have strong feelings either way. Anyway, go, watch!
