Earthquakes and sharks to start us off
Aug. 2nd, 2009 04:06 pmI've been hanging out a lot with the cat lately. We changed her name to Caprica. She didn't respond to the other one anyway (though that might be because she's a cat and not so much because she didn't know it). And supposedly she was a stray, so it seems like she wouldn't have any particular association to the name the pound just assigned to her (I guess they assigned it? Where they hell did they get that name? Where do they ever get names for strays? Now I want to know).
Anyway, Caprica. ( More pictures of cat behind the cut> <a href= )
In other news, I finally got ahold of my dad, and he says now that he's driving out and will get here on the 17th. We'll go shopping, and get a car by Wednesday. Then I'll have it to drive home a week or two later. There's a whole lot of cool deals going on, so we're thinking at this point it'd actually be cheaper to buy a new one than one that's a year or two old (0% for 60 months = no interest, if we can actually get that deal). I've been internet shopping, and according to edmunds.com, I can actually afford the car I want (well, no I can't, but it's within the price range my dad set, which is all that counts).
( Car and dad rambling and whining )
Argh. This will all be settled by the end of the month, one way or another.
Coz and I made savory crepes last night, instead of the sweet ones we usually do. We just cooked a bunch of veggies for the filling, and it was delicious. I'm gonna finish off the batter tonight with more of the same, plus some chicken for carnivore me.
I also bought the ingredients for chili, which I want to make sometime this week. I still need to grab a jalapeno, and make sure that I have grated cheese that isn't bad. And maybe some crackers/nachos. And then it will be delicious. And then it will be frozen, because even with chopping the recipe I found into I think an eighth of what it was (the proportions won't be quite right, but I'll adjust with spices), there's still going to be a ton left over. It'll be awesome.
( Lastly, I have a new favorite song. )
